This summer law elective starts with US legal system basics and teaches you concepts such as the jury system and more using high-profile cases.

In order to have a society, we need rules. Those that understand those rules best, are in the best position to make or change them. In this course, we will explore the fundamental parts of the American Legal System, and analyze how it functions in American society. This law program will feature an overview of landmark decisions issued by the Supreme Court of the United States, and identify how these decisions have affected public policy and shaped the world we live in today. After studying these cases, students will become a judge and write their own concurring or dissenting judicial “opinion.” We’ll see you in court.
